Students were selected through a very competitive three-tier interview process in order to gain a place on the Signbox Internship 2013. The program allows students from Singapore’s and England’s top universities to experience a real-world working environment in a fast paced, growing software company.
“With hands on involvement in day to day projects, ranging from software development to testing and deployment, the interns have had no shortage of exposure and insight into what awaits them on completion of their studies” says Stuart Lakin, who leads the internship program at Signbox.

Two internships have been granted to Luke Pather and Jonathan Hill. Both are students from England, with Luke Pather studying at Loughborough University and Jonathan Hill’s home university being University of York, however Jonathan has opted to study at NUS for a year. “Both these students have done well to adapt to the new culture in Singapore, and have shown the ability to work together and effectively as a team on our new website layout,” states Stuart Lakin.
“Working with Signbox has been a full, well rounded experience of working with a fast growing software company. They have given me great insight as to what I want to do after I leave university and when I enter the ‘world of work’. By working on the business and sales side of the company I can now apply these learnt skills to the sorts of jobs I am keen to apply for in the future. Signbox has a ‘work hard, play hard’ attitude in the office which is a pleasure to be around, and I hope I am able to work with Signbox in the near future,” commented Luke.
Jonathan went on to say “My internship at Signbox so far has introduced me to many new fields and experiences. I’ve had the opportunity to work with and see all the sides of the business, from support, to sales and marketing. It’s has been good to see effective software in action, and be part of deploying and maintaining that.”
“The calibre of the students interviewed was very high, and we have been delighted by the enthusiasm and output of our interns during the period. We will definitely be looking to repeat this process over the next few months” continued Lakin.
